Dakota Let me know what you think this is a Work in Prog. Much of the clothing was researched. Leather pants by Lost Art. Price: some ungodly amount I'm sure Thanks to ImageShack for Free Image Hosting

I like the line of his body. It's just thin enough around the hips to be slightly androgynous, which is a quality that Dakota exudes in certain settings. I can tell that the clothing is going to be great when it is finished. The detail is exceptional.
The whispering hand is really nice, but be careful about the proportions for the connecting arm. Keep in mind that to put your finger there, you don't have to bring your upper arm up very much so it should be longer than you have it right now. I can see that you've lined up the elbows, but still the upper arm looks too small.
As for Dakota's hair, think long, but not Blue Blood long. His hair is just long enough on the sides to cover about half of his ears and it curves into a dip in the back that just almost brushes his collar. The front is kept long to spike and turn into bangs, but it is shorter than the rest.
I can't speak for the face. That's not how I see it, but we all see character's faces in our own way. I'll leave that for Dakota to say. The only thing I'd say is to remember- he wears makeup. And very specific makeup, too. He is a Goth, afterall. I think the player mentions how he is wearing his makeup in his opening thread with his mentor, London.

Well, so much for critique! Muse hit all the spots I was going to touch on, and then some!
All I'm going to say is that I don't see his face as being quite that 'long' if you know what I mean. I won't really chatize you for it either way, though, because it is your interpretation of my character. I do like it quite a bit, though! Excellent job! I especially like the coat and tha gauntlets. Very nice. As for the makeup, I'm pretty sure muse is right, though you got the dark mark down the face right on. ^^

I recognize the design of the shirt beneath the coat, but I feel like you've done something tricky, Capa. Dakota wears gauntlets, which is unusual and, despite them being modern, still conjures some classic images...
...and that shirt beneath the coat vaguely resembles a Crusader's breastplate. Was this intentional?

His shirt is actualy a female undergament. Ha. But yes I did notice the resemblance when I was drawing it. So it was semi intentional. Here are some facial studies for Dakota let me know if he comes off too fem. Thanks to ImageShack for Free Image Hosting

I see the one in the lower left being the closest to my view because it looks the youngest. How effete he is or isn't is kinda the artist's vision, but its that one that makes me think the most of Dakota.
Any chance you took a little inspiration from Ziggy Stardust, Capa? These are neat.

I agree with Ethan- the 3rd face is probably the closest. I think he needs a stronger nose, though, and I would widen the jaw a little and style his hair more like the 2nd or 4th face.

I got an image somewhere around here that I was looking at when I decieded what I wanted Dakota to look like...I'm not sure where it is, but I'll look. Gimme a second... *long pause* Ah. Here a good place for it. groups.msn.com/TheRabbitHut/mrvcomics.msnwJust copy and paste, and you'll find it there. Just scroll down a bit, and look for the first picture of Iceman. I was looking at a combination of that picture, the picture I had in Dakota's RPOL bio for a while, and a really cool picture of Squall from FFVIII when I got a good image of Dakota in my mind. That particular picture would be of Dakota wearing his hair a little more tamely, or down, as it were. But Ethan and Muse are right on about the face. I the third one, too.

When Dakota was creating his character, we both agreed that this image was fitting as well: That is the singer Gackt.

Dunno if you ever got around to it, Capa, but did you ever finish this little number? I'd love to see it, if you did. =D
