I like the angle you are drawing from here. I think he's a bit too broad in the shirt, though and he needs some kind of expression on hs face. Still, it does say "Jones!".

Jones said no spikey hair, but when I saw this, I didn't think Yu-gi-Oh! Instead, it looked like he was just leaping down from some higher vantage, landing on his forefoot with Three drawn, and his is still trailing down behind him...like that loose, flappy collar on his shirt.
Its an action/motion piece. I see his hair bounding against his scalp and then flattening out into an indigo mess.

Lightbox? What's that?
Ah, now I would say Jones looks more like what I see - a normal teenager (albeit with blue hair). The shirt is neat, and I'm assuming that's Jones' little Seal of Solomon hanging from his neck.
If I were doing the picture - well, if I could draw in the first place - I think that I would arch Jones' eyebrows more and put some anger lines around his eyes, just because that's how I see him: the angry young man. I mean, c'mon; the guy had to fight in a bloody, deadly war at a young age, both against heartless Blackhats and then against terrible undead Warlocks, and worst of all, lost his best friend somewhere along the line, and not out of happenstance, but because of the stupidity of youth, which I think he now has the hindsight to realize and it probably makes him even angrier.
Jones, the angry young man. All right, there's a song I have to dedicate now.

hey ethan a lightbox is a copying tool that I like to use. Its a florescent light inside of a box that has a sheet of opaque white plastic over top of it. You put your drawing on it and then put a sheet of paper over top and trace away.
The pendant that hangs from his neck I based on the Seal but made it a mess of shapes and knots to try and capture the description Jones has of it.
as to his expresion you have a point. I'll see if I can manage someting a bit more angry.

This is coming around really well. His torso looks great and you made good changes to his face. I realize that the angle is kind of slanted and looking up, but it seems to me that his feet are a little too big and his right knee is too pointed and large. His left hand looks great.
Hey, come to think of it, I recently drew a character who's face was at a similar angle and I think the chin might be giving you some trouble. Would you be interested in having me post it for comparison? It might help, it might not.
