Greetings,
I am a secret-squirrel Navy cryptologist turned Engineer for a large defense contractor. I am the father of three (kittens) and the recalcitrant husband to a clinical psychiatrist (whose war-stories have provided a wealth of inspiration for characters). As a family we are scratching out a life in beautiful Virginia Beach which can be described as comfortable with the exception of the random tourist who plods across our small stretch of yard on their quest for sand and sun.
Christopher Jenkins has recently evolved from the character creation process, and I am looking forward to interacting with many of your characters (although I say that with marked trepidation because I’ve actually read a good deal of the active and inactive threads).
I’ve had to restructure my RPOL use several times in the last year, and Glitters is the only Whitewolf production I have allowed myself. A majority of the games I play in have been inspired by the masterful and epic fantasy books of George R. R. Martin, along with the occasional strategy game that catches my fancy.
I inherited a love of fantasy and tabletop role play from my friend’s parents, who introduced us to 1st edition Dungeons and Dragons at the tender age of ten (mostly Spelljammer and Gazetteer). From there, the ‘group’ discovered the joys of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, spending years amidst the denizens of the Forgotten Realms setting. Eventually, we graduated to Vampire the Masquerade in 1997 and that has been our main focus ever since.
Besides the few fleeting moments I spend on RPOL, I also attempt to finish the two novels I’ve been working on for a very long time. The first is a narrative from the viewpoint of a cynical and spiritually-battered teenager whose world is about to be shattered by violent and inexplicable circumstances, titled Neurosis or Love? I’ll probably never finish the book as my ability to channel teenage angst is fading with old age (I blame Banality).
The second is a satirical bitch-slap against the Oprah Book of the Month novel Tuesdays With Morrie, titled Thursdays With Sisyphus. It is a massive effort aimed at exploring the criminal sub-society in America as well as a means to express my passion for Greek and Roman mythology.
I’m also an avid fan of historical research, philosophic literature, home-game poker, and watching the UFC on television.
Questions, comments, or concerns can be addressed at your leisure.
